BOOK REVIEW: ROCH, PROTECTOR OF DOGS by Wabbit Wilder

Roch, Protector of Dogs is the fictionalized account of the life of St. Roch (or Rocco/Roque), who was born in 1348 in Montpelier, France and is the patron saint of dogs. Son of wealthy landowners, he was born in a time when plague ravished the earth. Following the deaths of his parents, the young man leaves his inherited wealth behind and sets out on a journey characterized by selflessness. Ministering to the sick, dying, and poor, he becomes a legend to the people whose lives he touched.

I loved this beautiful novella. Author Wilder immerses the reader in the lives of both the privileged and destitute who are all equal in the face of the ravages of plague. I finished the book feeling my spirit uplifted, as tears ran down my cheeks. I highly recommend this novella to anyone who enjoys a good read. 5-Stars
